Our sweet Mother, to these little children now that they have come to your fold, 

open your protective covering and bless them so that they may become chosen vessels, 

so that the Holy Spirit may rest in their souls, within their souls.

Our Panagia, our sweet Mother, our consolation, our strength, our illumination, 

help them to become heirs of those indescribable good things, 

for you are blessed unto the boundless ages of ages.

Eight Year Old Myrto And Her Wise Teacher

I remember Myrto, a charming little girl. She developed acute leukemia. With unparalleled silence and patience she braved the most aggressive treatments given to her, with a sweet expression constantly lighting up her pale little face.

The more she patiently endured, the more her parents broke down, and together with their hopes they gradually lost the last traces of their faith. They were not particularly religious to begin with, but some small seed was in them.

O All-plenteous Lord Jesus Christ, who wast once even Thyself a child and who used to love and bless children, have mercy upon the children of our time and save them — so that unbaptized children may be baptized, and so that baptized children may be strengthened in their faith in Thee, who art Truth eternal, and in their love for Thee, who art Love ineffable.

Save, O Lord, those children whom unbelieving parents corrupt with atheism and turn away from Thee, their only Savior and salvation.
